Stephen McCabe - Everything About Echeverias

Stephen McCabe will talk about Echeverias and how to grow them. He will focus on the plants at the UC Santa Cruz Arboretum. Many of those plants are from the collection of the late Margaret and Bob Grim. Margaret was a long-time member of the San Jose club, and Bob hybridized many of the plants for which she won ribbons. Bob's hybrids have now been distributed around the world.

Stephen is the Director of Development and Research and Curator of Succulents at the Arboretum, where he has worked for 27 years. His scientific research is on Dudleya, and his horticultural work is on Dudleya, Echeveria, Gasteria, Mimulus, and Arctostaphylos. He grew up in San Jose and has spoken to the club in the past. Some of the UCSC plants will be for sale.
