Late Summer on the Bokkeveld Plateau

Peter Beiersdorfer will present a talk entitled "Late Summer on the Bokkeveld Plateau." The talk is based on his most recent trip to South Africa in February 2015. The confluence of several floral regions - the Succulent Karoo, Cape Fynbos, and Renosterveld - make plant life interesting in the Bokkeveld region. Moreover, the largest village in the region is Nieuwoudtville, which is considered the "Bulb Capital of the World". Peter will show succulents during their summer dormancy when they take on fascinating appearances, while waiting for winter rain.

Peter will bring winter-growing bulbs for sale.
