Cactus Propagation: Techniques for Multiplying and Growing Your Cactus Collection Andrew Hazlett and Byron Fan will present lessons learned from the past year propagating cacti, starting with the best practices for taking cuttings to root out and grow successfully. We will also cover growing cacti from seed, how variegated cacti grow, and how they can be propagated to produce beautifully marbled specimens. We'll discuss our year studying grafting stock compatibility and some adventures in propagating extremely rare cactus that cannot grow on their own roots. Byron and Andrew are backyard cactus growers in the South Bay. Byron is currently a graduate student in Biotech, and first joined the CSSSJ when he was 14 years old, over 10 years ago now. Andrew is a research and development engineer in San Jose and enjoys the low tech of propagating cacti.
