Tour of UC Santa Cruz Arboretum

Our May Meeting and program will be a guided private tour of the UC Santa Cruz Arboretum by renowned Dudleya expert Stephen McCabe. Stephen has worked at the Arboretum for 30 years and still takes care of a good number of Dudleya there since his retirement. It will indeed be a special treat to have him lead our group on this tour!

Plan on meeting in visitor parking near the South African Area, and we will begin the tour at 11:00 am. The tour will last approximately one hour. If you’d like to download or print out a visitor guide before your visit:

Their web site is located at: https://arboretum.ucsc.edu/

General admission and guided-tour fees will be covered by the club for CSSSJ members. During our guided tour, we are asking that participants wear a mask. Please RSVP, so we may get an accurate head count, by April 30 via email sjcactussucculent@gmail.com

Plan ahead for potential "beach traffic" and allow for extra drive time.

Before you leave the Arboretum, you may want to visit Norrie’s Gift Shop for plants or gifts. If you’d like to make a day of it, here are some great places "over the hill" to explore:
