Andrew Hazlett: "The Fun of Grafting Cactus"

Have ever been fascinated by grafted cacti? Ever wondered how to go about the process? CSSSJ club member, and master grafter, Andrew Hazlett will be our presenter this month! Andrew will begin by showing the basic rules you need to follow to succeed at grafting cactus. This includes the tools, the root stock and scions needed. The basic process of grafting is simple when you understand how grafting works and what to look out for.

The second half of the presentation will dive into advanced grafting techniques. Now that you have the basics down you can push the limits on grafting rare cacti for propagation or art. Grafting allows for the propagation of Astrophytum caput-medusae or making a living totem pole. We will push the limits of what is possible with grafting to experience the fun of grafting cactus.
